Product at risk
A case is warm. Do this first.
A technician answers this line any hour, every day. While you dial, the first ten minutes go like this.
Your store's own food-safety plan decides what stays on sale. We help you decide what to move.

Plain-language explanations

The first ten minutes
Five things to do
- 01
Step 1: Keep the doors closed
Every opening lets cold out. Leave coolers and freezers shut unless you are moving product.
- 02
Step 2: Read the product, not just the display
Use a probe thermometer on the product. Write down the time and the reading.
- 03
Step 3: Call the line
Say the store, the case or rack, and what the controller shows.
- 04
Step 4: Move product when we say
To a working case, a walk-in or a refrigerated truck. Your plan decides what stays on sale.
- 05
Step 5: Leave the compressor alone
Do not keep restarting one that has tripped. Repeated restarts can damage it.
Safety first
When to leave and call 911
A rack-room alarm is sounding
Leave the room. Refrigerant in an enclosed space can displace air. Call 911 if anyone feels unwell, then call us.
Cold fog, a hissing sound or a sharp smell
Leave, keep people out and open the doors from outside. Call 911, then us.
Smoke or a burning smell
Leave and call 911 first. Cut power only if it is safe to reach the switch.
Who answers and what it costs
What to expect from the line
These are targets, not a guarantee.
Who answers
A technician on the on-call rotation, any hour, every day. Not an answering service.
Call-back
Our target is 15 minutes. If both on-call technicians are on calls, you get a call back with a time.
On site
Our target is two hours inside the Omaha metro. The first call gives you the real window; ice storms and holidays can move it.
Nights and weekends
After-hours work is billed at the after-hours terms on your service agreement or quote. We tell you before anyone rolls.
What we leave
A written report with the cause, the parts, the readings and what to watch.
Questions
Questions on a bad night
Should I throw out product that was warm?
That is your store's decision under its food-safety plan and your local health rules. We tell you what temperatures we read and for how long, and you decide.
Can I text instead of calling?
You can text a photo of the controller display to the same number. For a warm case, call; texts are read, not always answered at night.
What if the line is busy?
You get a call back, and the target is 15 minutes. If it is a safety call, call 911 first.
A case is warm right now?
Call, and keep the doors closed.
